Procedures Performed: Revision Rhinoplasty with Removal of Nasal Implant.
This patient had a silicone nasal implant placed previously by a different surgeon, but it was becoming problematic. We performed revision rhinoplasty to remove the nasal implant and reconstruct the nose using rib cartilage. The removal of the silicone implant allows for the restoration of natural nasal structure, and rib cartilage is used for its strength and versatility in reshaping and reconstructing the nose. Rib cartilage provides a more durable, natural result and reduces the risk of future complications, making it an ideal material for reconstructing a functional and aesthetically pleasing nose.
